Victoria Island Structure, an inverted 3-D-view isopach map of potential crater infill
Developed a novel autonomous aerial magnetic-survey concept for investigating the Victoria Island Structure, a suspected buried terrestrial impact crater. The goal was to enable precise magnetic-field mapping using a drone-mounted sensing system.
PnP for the hanging sensor with April Tag
Photogrammetry testing
Designed and conducted hardware tests to quantify magnetic interference generated by the drone and assess system viability under real operating conditions.
Prototyped a tethered-magnetometer configuration and built a vision-based state-estimation pipeline using PnP and a photogrammetry workflow to recover accurate sensor pose.
Drone-induced magnetic field for Matrice 100
Matrice 100 Outdoor Testing
Mavic Outdoor Testing
Validated the concept through outdoor experiments, demonstrating that vision-based pose estimation enables reliable magnetic-field surveying from an aerial platform and establishing the feasibility of the proposed system.
